	Who are we? The Abilities Center of Southern New Jersey, Inc. is a leading provider of employment, job-training and educational services for people with disabilities and other disadvantages. 	Read our fact sheet - Who We Are - and learn more! Our Production Division delivers goods and services to support the Abilities Center's programs and promote our self-sufficiency. We've grown by nearly 800% over the past 12 years. We need additional space to continue responding to community demand for our services!
	We offer Vocational Evaluation,  Center-Based Services, Community Employment  Service, School-to-Career programs  and more.
	The National Organization on Disabilities (N.O.D.)/Harris Survey of Americans with Disabilities reported that only 35 percent of people with disabilities are employed full or part time, compared to 78 percent of those who do not have disabilities.
	Only 32% of Americans with disabilities aged 18 to 64 are working -- but two-thirds of those unemployed want to be working.
	People with disabilities want to work but face attitudinal barriers in the workplace about the workplace about their ability to do the job reports the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development.
	We know they can do the job and our results are the proof!

Our Mission

The Abilities Center of Southern New Jersey is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to developing employment opportunities for people with disabilities or other disadvantages through education, training and job placement.

Company Profile

	The Abilities Center of Southern New Jersey opened its doors in 1963 and now delivers an integrated array of services to people with disabilities and other disadvantages in Camden, Gloucester, Burlington, Salem, Cumberland, and Atlantic Counties.
	We're conveniently located off of Interstate 295S on Route 47 (Delsea Drive) in Westville, NJ.
	With demand for our services increasing, the Center served over 800 people in 2004. Our Employment Services Division has grown by over 90% in the number of referrals and 58% in the number of people served in the past two years.
	Through its unique position in the community as an employment training provider as well as an employer and vendor of services and products for 40 years, we can manage the employer and employee side -- the Abilities Center plays a key role in developing the community’s workforce.
	Our Production Area  provides both training and extended employment for our consumers, along with packaging, wrapping, shipping and a variety of similar services. Production and tax credit update: In 2006, New Jersey enacted a tax credit for hiring people with disabilities in extended employment settings. If your job contract with the Abilities Center will take at least 26 weeks a year to complete and require an extended employee for 25 hours a week, this tax credit may apply to you. 	The Danellie Food Service Training Institute, named for the generous trustees of Danellie Foundation, is training people for work for demand occupations in food industry.
	The Center also offers a school-to-career program for young people, age 14-21, through their local school districts and in partnership with local businesses. Accreditation and Memberships A One-Stop Employment Center,  the Abilities Center of Southern New Jersey, Inc. is a United Way agency certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in Comprehensive Vocational Evaluation Services and Community Employment Services.  We are members of the Southern New Jersey Chamber of Commerce and the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce.
